Seriously... That takes a LOT of work... You'd think that someone that enterprising and ambitious would make a lot more money in a legitimate job.

Legitimate job and meth don't go together very well. Incompetent theft and meth sort of works, in between trips to jail.

That"s just sad. I"ve seen similar out here. Just idiocy. Just had someone cut 20ft leads off my arc welder. Not sure why they just didn"t take the whole thing (except it is crazy heavy), but they threw everything outside from the barn to be rained on and destroyed a lot of things.

Someone had planned that to be certain. If I have to leave a tractor overnight in a field, I drive it into the woods if I can. They are getting dangerous out here.

I saw that ad. That has happened around here too. There's two scrap yards in Waco and when you go you see people bringing in miniscule loads of stuff to make a buck. Copper theft and a/c unit theft was the most frequent.

Empty trailer houses get stripped of their siding. Talk about a lot of work for nothing.

Couple years ago family estate across the road kept missing stuff. House and barns hidden when the corn is tall. They finally caught a nephew stealing the stuff and taking it for scrap. Yep, was on drugs.

Now at the scrap yard they make a copy of your DL and take down license plate.

Place my dad care takes for second home for teachers from NYC some one stripped there vermont ride a 78 Chevy 2500 tires hood fenders one door radiator alternator water pump drive shafts batterie and tailgate
I mean who ever came equipped and knew what they wanted but at some point you would have thought they would have taken the whole truck house is on a dead end road with mostly second home people dad was trimming hedge rows at that time so he was some surprised when he pulled in at 7am to see what was left and he had been there until 6pm the day before

Oh and on a more recent note there was a local kid going around stealing farm equipment and bringing to scrap yard a few years ago when scrap was high and the thing that bugs me is guy that owns the yard never questioned this kid for weeks on end every morning he would show up with haybine a balers rakes tedders anything he could haul some of the stuff was junk but a lot was good stuff that had been being used a farmer down the road went in to bring his own junk and was looking at a nice new holland 479 and then realized holy Hanna that's mine along with a few other things
The law never checked into see if yard guy was involved I think he was but he never got implicated

If law enforcement and the scrap dealers would do their job this would not happen so often. At least in MN they are supposed to make a copy of your drivers license, a picture of the scrap and license plate of the vehicle. Very few do.

I have heard of people stealing the motors from the oil wells in West Texas because they are out in the middle of nowhere.

I have cameras all over the place. You don't get in or out without me getting a picture. Fortunately, it does not happen here much. A few miles south of me I am told that nothing on wheels can be left near the road or it will be gone. Sad.
