Working on my 560d today and took it for a test run this tractor always sounded like it had a knock in the engine to me went across my disc field and cracked down on the throttle as I was watching the smoke something came flying out of the exhaust about 20 ft in the air as it was going up it look just like a bolt to me got off walk to see if I could find it and what I found was a piece of gummed up fuel or soot and guess what that knock went away that's a 1st for me

No like new I really believe this thing was in one of the cylinders it was hard I don't no if its possible for something to be gummed up that bad all I know is that engine knock went away when this thing came out

Carbon and deposits from the back side of the head of the intake valve can flake loose and get pinched on top of the piston. It can make a terrible noise, or just enough to be dreadfully predictive of immanent catastrophic failure. When they dislodge and fly out they stop knocking and live for another day. Sometimes it is a piece of intake system, prechamber, or other metal component. those often spear into the piston and can break rings and be very nasty. Most do not go away. Best of luck. Jim

Normally with me when i see something go out the stack it usually is a piece of and exhaust valve and a dead miss is then noticed .

I sucked the accelerator pump jet into the engine on one of my old VWs. I didn't realize what the mangled piece if metal was when it hit me in the shin. It was only when I pulled the carb the same day I saw it. My mechanic friend told me that was why they were soft metal. Must have been common. My grain truck has no arm for the accel pump.
