Question on ignition coil. 12 volt neg grd. 12 volt coil with internal resistor. Power to positive and neg to distributor? That is how I think it should be. Am I correct? Thanks in advance. Carl.

If you're at Negative ground, power form IGN switch to coils +, and - terminal to distributor where it gets to ground when points are closed.

PS FYI there's actually NOT a discrete stand alone "resistor" tucked and hidden away inside that coil, it has no internal "resistor", it has a LV coil primary winding resistance in the 2.5 to 4 ohms or so range......
