Is this tractor a Super C ???

I went on e-bay the other day, typed in Farmall Super C to look for some parts, and found a Farmall Super C tractor for sale, starting bid $900, but when I looked at the Picture it looked like a Farmall C and not a Super C. I e-mail a message to him through e-bay that the grill and clutch pedal was a Farmall C and not a Super C, and he e-mail me back that saying; No it says on the side super c. Could I be wrong?

Despite what the grill and some of the metal looks like; Look at the steering column and see the Touch control levers and carefully look just down the steering rod and see the quadrant pieces for the attachments.
This is a supper c farmall

The Super C will have disc brakes and normally it will have sealed beam lights that are flat on the back rather than domed. I agree that the serial number would clearly identify

I live in Missouri and around this part of the state Farmall C's and SC's are very common. A Super C should have about 1 1/2" space between the top of the hydraulic unit and the bottom of the fuel tank which I don't see in the photo. I can't tell from the picture some other distinguishing features because they are not detailed enough for my eyes but around here that is certainly not a $900 C or SC unless something very outstanding and unique is hidden or you failed to mention. I have a 1953 Super C w/fast hitch narrow front end tractor and it is one of my most used older Farmalls because it is so handy and the right size for so many jobs on a working farm. I think with a little effort you can find a very nice and straight SC for a few hundred more which is what you are most likely going to have to spend on the one pictured. If the serial no plate is still on the tractor it will be located on the right hand side of the seat base and a Super C will have a six digit serial no. starting at 100001 and up. Hope this helps, Hal.

(quoted from post at 11:42:36 05/04/14) It may say "Super C" on the side, but that is just a C.

I agree... anyone could put Super C decals on a C. From my view of it, the straight clutch pedal and lack of hydraulic temperature gauge on the Touch-Control quadrant would indicate a C. With a Super C, it would have disk brakes and curved pedals. This in addition to the short grill and lack of space under the gas tank.

Agreed! Many C's were rebuilt at the dealers, using the super C rebuild kit which gave the C the same power as a super C. Dealers would put a super C decal on because of the Horsepower rebuild

Even through the weeds the straight shank on the clutch pedal can be seen. It's a C.

I do not think you are correct. There are many sites that list them as sealed baems. My main point is that the lights have flat backs on them and are not domed.

Page 69 of your Super C parts book, flat lights start at serial no. 159455 and up. My tractor was built 14273 tractors after that and according to the casting numbers plus a couple weeks would put it at about 6/1/53 so I don't know how long it would taken to build the 14273 tractors before mine.
