Farmall 340 headlight bracket

The right headlight 'pipe' has been broken off at the plate that bolts to the gas tank shroud. So much stuff around the tractor for me to access; does someone know what size pipe is used for that assembly? as I'm guessing it is a pipe threaded in, or, is an un-threaded pipe welded on the backside of the plate? Thanks in advance for any insight.

Al, I checked the on-line IH Farmall 340 part catalog for your tractor and that part is identical between my Farmall 240 and your 340 so I measured my 240 to get the dimensions. The part no. for the headlight mounting posts on both models is 370560R1 and the measurements I obtained from my 240 are: the pipe has an ID of .583", an OD of .836" (with paint) and protrudes from the base into which it is threaded is 5.125" long. Its total overall length will be somewhat greater like 5 1/2" long to include the amount threaded into the base. I believe it is probably standard 1/2" black iron pipe but you will have to verify with what you can find available in your area, Hal.
