Super C engine ?s

I have super c that has been leaking a small amount of coolant in the oil for the last few years. So this spring I went to drain the small amount of coolant out of the oil pan and there was a lot of coolant that had drained into the pan over the winter. Pulled the oil pan and found fluid leaking between the block and liners. To make short story long, pulled the liners and now am looking for the seals that go around the liners. IH wants 21 bucks a piece for them. Is there any place to get them cheaper? YT doesn't have them. By the time I get the seals and gaskets it will be close to 200 bucks. Am I better of getting an in the frame rebuild kit? I've got a few more questions, but this post is getting long. I will start another post for the other questions. Thanks Dale

Hi

Sounds like you have this engine just about tore apart. I would check your sleeves and pistons for wear as well as the crankshaft. If those parts are within spec. put in new rings and bearings, and get the head done. Try Olsens gaskets for the O rings. Those super C engines are pretty tough. I have never had a problem with used parts that were with in spec. Good Luck.

Cheers Russ

If you put the old sleeves back in, rotate them 180deg. It will even out some of the wear on the sleeves.

Thanks for the replies. I think I will try to just put in new liner seals if the bearing and piston clearances are good. Dale

Why don't you install a new sleeve kit. You had better check your crankshaft for wear or you will be tearing the engine down again. Hal
