I have a 674 with only one remote port and it looks factory, I installed a vent n place of one hose an it will lift it but it jus falls soon as u release the lever. Also kinda slow raising the disk.

Hi, I have never seen a 74 series tractors with a
only a single remote hydraulic outlet. That does
not mean they don"t exist.
The problem has to be in the remote valve that
when you release the lever and it is going into a
"Float" mode where it is not closing the valve
completely.
Does the valve only have up/down or is there a
float position?

It's the European version of the tractor, which commonly came with a single, ONE-WAY hydraulic remote.

I don't know if the behavior is normal or not. It seems like there should be a "hold" position but those European tractors sometimes don't make sense by American standards. For one thing, why equip a 1970's tractor with a 1930's hydraulic system?

You could add a 2-way spool valve and get 2-way hydraulics with a hold position: Get an open center spool valve with as many remotes as you want (1, 2, 3 or more). Mount it somewhere convenient. Connect the outlet from the tractor to the IN on the new valve body. Connect the OUT from the valve body to a fill/check plug somewhere on the tractor's transmission housing. Add hoses and couplers to the work ports. Lock the tractor's hydraulic valve so it provides constant pressure.

Before I hooked the hose up the lever stayed n the neutral position or middle. It was out of fluid when I hooked hose up, added bout 7gal need couple more. But now the lever jus stays at the bottom an u can pull it all the way up an raise the disk an it will stay up until the lever goes all the way to the bottom, it jus seems like its not stopping at the neutral position to hold it up.
