Ok so we purchased a new block and completely rebuilt the motor, only thing not new is carb and governor, I am pretty handy so I am the maint guy for tractor, minus the rebuild we took to an engine shop for that. So tractor starts great purrs like a kitten until you advance the throttle, it doesn't have any noticeable change until the third notch then the motor takes off to high rpms, I have went over all linkage tried to adjust bottom nut top nut on gov, nothing,. Not sure what it might be, any ideas where to buy new throttle linkage(governor linkage) and springs, I really need some help we are frustrated. My email is [email protected] please put farmall help in subject,. I am also willing to talk on phone for instructions......

The most likely cause is binding linkage. With it not running, make sure the throttle shaft in the carb and the linkage back to the governor arm at the front is free to move in both directions when the hand lever is moved through its range. If it sticks at all, it must be freed up. The governor opens the throttle against the governor spring. the weights inside try to close the throttle plate. With this in mind, finding the binding, or improperly adjusted part is next. If the throttle hand lever is fully to the fast position, the throttle plate at the carb should be fully open, and the linkage from the governor arm at the front to the throttle shaft lever should be just long enough to assure the throttle stays open (all done with it OFF!
