Weight in tires of Farmall C?

Do I need weight (calcium chloride) in the tires of a Farmall C if I never do any pulling? When I replaced the tires a few years back, I put weight back in because it had weight in the tires when I bought the tractor. I am thinking I didn't really need it. If it doesn't need the weight, is it dangerous to have weight in one tire, but not the other? I have a flat and need a tube in a tire. I was considering leaving the weight out.

You do not need the weight if you do not plan to pull heavy loads such as plowing, disking, pulling logs, heavy trailers, etc. We all like for things to be balanced but it should not make that much difference with weight in one wheel and not in the other. Mine is fixed like that now cause I did not have to money to buy the antifreeze to fill the second tire.

Yes,fluid/weight in both or none.If you just show,parade/drive around,mow..... and do not tractor pull, get the wt out!Heck, you can even do a little 'farming' without weight.A single weight can make a tractor easier to tip to the weighted side. Also, the weighted tire will grip and the non will spin...The result is worse than no wt.Drain em!

Have the tire guy drain both tires when he comes to fix the flat on the one.

Getting the fluid out is the easy part. It's putting it back in that's a bear.

On a Super C, two sets of iron weights is about the same as the maximum amount of fluid you can jam in the tires. Around 290lbs.
