M live hyd question

I bought a complete M&W live hydraulic set up off another M that I will be installing on my 1950 M. I will be using the belly pump for my reservoir. Does it need to be disconnected? Thanks.

I took out the driveshaft on mine and then just used the drain plug for the pump input line.

Thanks Allan, does the m pump have enough oil capacity to handle a hyd bucket? The loader is a trip bucket now, but has provisions to add cylinders.

If time and high productivity are not critical it will work. Just not radically fast. Jim

I had a JD 45W loader/hyd bucket. on my SuperM one time.It handled it just fine,but was slow,still 'acceptable'.For long term/
'permanant' service,I would recomend a PTO or similar pump.

Thanks for the help. I have a larger tractor with a 3pt. bucket for my main snow mover. This tractor will just be used for smaller/lighter jobs such as cleaning up trees and brush occasionally, etc., so speed is not a real concern.
