1953 Super A piston rings

Good day. I'm helping a friend rebuild his grandpa's '53 Super A. He ordered new piston rings but they are incorrect. His supplier is having trouble finding the correct parts. Are there different engine sizes and how would we tell for sure the year and engine size. Also is there a spot on here with torque specs?

The last ring set I bought came from this website, delivery was very fast, rings were good, price was right. Go to the parts section, you will see there are 3" and 3 1/8" cylinder bores. Also, there are different size compression and oil rings, for instance, 1/4" or 3/32" compression rings, and 1/4" or 3/16" oil rings. The year and serial number don"t mean that much after 60 years, just measure things up. For torque, a service manual will list those specs, the manual is available on this site, too. From memory, rod bolts might be 35 ft. lbs. and the head bolts might be 65 ft. lbs. but most people on here will tell you to go to 80 ft. lbs. That said, I once pulled the threads out of an A block head bolt, heli-coil fixed it. Go to this page and check it out...

Some of those late Super A's had the same block that the Super C used. You should measure those sleeves for wear or have someone to measure them for you. If it was my tractor I would install a new sleeve kit. Also have the crankshaft measured for wear at your local auto machine shop and buy the new bearings from them. Then you will have an engine that will last a long time.
The Farmall A's, B's and C's and some of the Super A's had sleeves that measured 6.875" in length and 3.312" in diameter at the seal.

The Super C's and some of the late Super A's had sleeves that measured 7.060" in length and 3.4375" at the seal. Those engine blocks had block number 354898R1 and you could install an overbore kit that raised the cid to 133. Hal
