ih 454 forward/reverse lever

454 doesn't want to go in forward without jamming it in.Is there an adjustment for this and where is it.

Hi, the shift mechanism is all under the where the shift lever is located. The mechanism is probably worn. Make sure trash has not fallen done into the shift mechanism or the sheet metal that guides the shift lever is not bent.

Are the gears grinding when you shift into forward?
Could be clutch not releasing properly.

DO NOT force the shift lever or you will shear off the lever that goes into the transmission.
