Can a clutch pressure plate on a tractor be resurfaced? I have read a number of discussions on various internet forums, some saying definitely NO while others reply that it can be done. These forums though have been automotive ones so they're dealing with much higher revs, etc. I'm guessing maybe ten-thou would do the trick. Any opinions from tractor guys?

I dont see why not.If you can get it secured to the machine...But I would be more concerned with the springs,fingers...They wear out/get weak.Be cheaper and easier to just buy a re-man pressure plate

(quoted from post at 11:06:05 04/09/14) Yes, that is what a rebuilt pressure plate is.

Sometimes. Often the larger rebuilt pressure plate assemblies will have new cast plates because there are not enough good used ones to rebuild.

Yes, pressure plates can absolutely be re-surfaced. But like a brake rotor, there are minimum thickness dimensions that need to be followed. Heat distribution is a consideration, and when they get too thin, heat doesn't dissipate and they will warp. Also, there needs to be appropriate clearance for the mounting bolts, as the heads are recessed. Any reputable clutch or engine shop will be able to do it and also make sure that it is within specs.
