A few days ago I made a post mentioning I couldn't get the 1086 into park sometimes. Today I found the problem and it was so simple I could kick myself. The rollers for the reverse-park shift lever in the shifting console in the cab needed a shot of oil. I pulled the shifter into reverse, stuck the oil can tube down through the shift lever slot towards the rollers and gave them a few squirts. Now it shifts into park and reverse with practically no resistance. All last winter I was grumbling to myself about how hard it was to pull into reverse, and this being a loader tractor , reverse is used a lot. I could have saved myself a lot of hard tugging on the lever if I would have done this a year ago Sheesh! So you 86 series owners, get out the squirt can if it's going into reverse and park a little harder than you think it should. Jim

Did the same thing on a MF carb linkage assembly, it got so hard to move, finally just sprayed WD-40 all over it, drenched it, blew off all the dust and crud, and it's smooth as a baby's you-know-what.
