Just got it back from Darrell and it looks great! Never owned a GOOD seat pan,let alone a redone one that is actually covered in material.(Current one I use is pretty rusted and I had to weld the 4 bolt mounting piece back in it once now.)

This one goes on the shelf for now for the future rebuild/resto of the Super M.I have been gradually collecting all of the parts needed for that operation. Darrell is currently redoing another one for me I am going to use on the "worker tractor".Yea,I am being "greedy" with the seats. lol

Thanks to Leon and Lynn for setting me up with the used seat pans to get covered. ;) Just 2 of the MANY helpful folks here on YT.

Darrell has done SEVERAL seats for folks here on YT and the Red Power sight.

Like I said,I DO NOT know what a covered seat ever was till today. lol

What's the difference between that and a seat from OEM tractor down by Bloomington Il.. I bought one up at the Madison Wi. Red Power show for about 70 bucks, silver canvas , think it was on sale then the girl gave me a coupon and I still think she didn't charge enough. no old welded seat pan required.

Can we get a close up of the material used? I have seen the K&M version that OEM and others sell. It is a weave type pattern. It would be interesting to see how this material compares.

Well,I DO NOT know about the OEM seats, but this is an original I.H. seat pan.it is sand blasted, primered , and shot in I.H. red, then covered with a HEAVY canvas cover, over a nice, firm padding.I just like the idea of an original seat over an aftermarket,if you can get a good one. Thats all. ;)

And BTW,the "welded up" seat pan I was originally referring to is my OLD,rusted pan that is still on the tractor right now that is falling apart after 60+ years and will now be hung on the barn wall. (My new, redone/covered pan is in PERFECT shape)

To answer the other question about the material. I was told the "woven" covers were a replacement seat. (The one on the tractor now was that material, what was left of it.) A SMALL,TIGHT version of what you would see like OLD TIME lawn chair "webbing".

This was done by a local upholstery firm in Christchurch (New Zealand) Cost for 2 seats about US$150. Fabric textured marine grade vinyl, foam underneath with grove so do not feel the seam.
Up to about mid 1949 seats were black (see photographs of Farmall Super A and Farmall C tractors on freight cars leaving Louisville factory.
