How is they do the steering off the pedestal of the john deere ? Did they cut the pedestal short ? Could you get some close ups ? or is it a split pedestal . thanks Mark
 
It is a one piece pedestal.Somehow they made some kind of 'bearing' holder for the bottom.They used LOTS of brass to accomplish this.I dont know how the draglink is hooked up.Never looked that close.The man who did the 'conversion'(pre '65) dida really good job.The thing steers real tight and very easy,too.
