560 Diesel Motor Oil

I have a 560 Diesel. Fleet Farm is running a special this week on Mystik Heavy Duty Synthetic Blend Diesel Motor Oil. I have never heard of Mystic! Is this a good oil for an old 560D? It comes in 15w40, or 15w50. What would be best? Or should I stay with a straight diesel motor oil?

The Mystic brand has been around for as long as I can remember. Seems like the only place you will find it is in those farm stores. I always considered it to be one of the "bargain basement" brands. Maybe it is good oil, but I've never used it.

I think Mystic is good and do not consider it bargain basement in quality.
I have used their grease for years for most everything including alternator bearing and wheel bearings.

Very true, But the manual was written when Today's very fine and appropriate multi Wt. oils were not even dreamed of. Ignore the manuals recommendation. Jim

I run rotella in my 560 only because I buy it in a 55 gallon drum for 599 at sams club.

all my pre 39 tractors have mystic in the trans and rearends. I used to run Mystic engine oil in them before I started buying drums. worked good, I have no issues with the oil

all my grease guns have mystic lube in them as well

Mystik oil will work just fine. If you live from the central part of the country to the northern part I would run 15w 40. If you are in the south I would go with 15 w 50.
