farmall c to farmall b engine swap

I have a farmall b and want to put a c engine block in it so i can take advantage of the hydraulic system. What all would I need to do this? Block, pump, hydraulic lines. What else? What's different between them, what's the same? Anyone have the parts I would need. Any help would be much appreciated. This is my first tractor and want to use it, not just take it to threshing shows.

Yes its an easy swap you will need an extension where the steering u-joint fastens to the steering sector so the steering shaft clears the pump. You can also add a waterpump.

I think the c engine turns more rpm if you are pulling pro driven implements they would turn faster, May not matter, good luck.

Decrease throttle?

Are you looking to use the touch control hydraulics on it? If so, I would say you need the torque tube to mount them. At that point, you might as well just put the B rear on the C torque tube.
Why, if I may ask, would make you want to do this? Only thing your going to accomplish is smaller tires than the C.

Or, here is a thought.. Keep the B to use as your lightweight mower tractor (and since I know you are looking for a loader to put on the B)... Maybe save up $$ for the summer and get (another) tractor. Maybe an H or M with a loader? :) Don't worry, momma won't mind. (Plus, it may be about the same cost to find a decent used H with a loader as it would to add the necessary components to the B to make it live-hyd ready).

coupla other thoughts. depending on how much hydraulics you need, you can add a power steering pump off an older chevy pickup and drive it off the engine belt, or, on my b, i used a pto driven prince pump. my b has the belt pulley drive also, so i use that to run the woods mower, and the pto pump for a log splitter and a lift cylinder for the mower. the pump would not be live off the pto however.

Two things. One you need a water pump. The head gasket for the B has larger holes in the cooling system for a natural ocnvection cooling system. They are smaller on a C to account for the pressure the water pump creates. If you have small holes and you work the tractor bad things can happen. Second is you will have to modify your steering shaft. We put a C-153 in a B and I took the shaft and a jig and welded an extention on and then turned it down in the lathe.
