You would need to replace the cam gear and timing cover if the H was made before sometime in 1950, think it was near the middle of the year.

You are correct, mine is a late 1950 and the pump bolted right up. You can check the part # on the front casting against one on a super H/300 to be sure.
 
If you mean the complete system from a SH that was built with engine driven hydraulics. Along with some having a different bolt pattern for pump mounting as already mentioned the clutch housings are different to mount the reservoir unit. Can't mount the reservoir unit in the original place because the H starter is also in the way. Nothing that can't be overcome if wanting to use the hydraulics bad enough.
