1086 brakes

I blead my brakes Saturday because they felt spongy and I had no brakes at all with the engine off
They did have alot of air in them and once I got done I had pedal even with the engine off
Today I went and checked and I dont have any pedal agin but couldn't get it started to see what happened with the engine running dead batteries
Is it normal to not have any brakes with the tractor not running
Thanks

Most likely your problem is leaking O-rings on the brakes pistons. A leak in that area will allow the oil to leak out and be replaced with air.

If the brake system is working correctly you should still have manual brakes with the engine not running. If there is air in the system you will not have manual braking.

Russell I have posted this before some just think they know no better. The IHC tractors with hyd. brakes like the 706 through 1086 like yours should have brakes without the engine running. They can be checked real easy before you start the engine. If they do not have brakes with out engine running they need work. Get a manual and check them out.
