Sleeve Puller Puck Size

Hey guys! Going to be tearing into an M within the next couple weeks and want to get a sleeve puller made. While I am at it, I'm going to make a handful of different pucks for different engines. I searched the archives and got some dimensions someone had posted before, I just want to double check they are correct. If anyone has some pucks or sleeves they can measure and let me know if I need to adjust these numbers. Thank you!!!

OD - ID
H - 3.540 - 3.420
SH - 3.550 - 3.670
M - 3.990 - 4.110
SM - 4.110 - 4.230

Lastly, how thick should I make these pucks? I'm guessing 1/2" would be plenty...

well it is going to depend if the engines have original size or replacement oversize sleeves and pistons. I made the ones I have out of inch thick stock and I turn the puck down to fit in the id about 3/4" and leave 1/4" for the od. an m had original size 3 7/8" bore and most are fitted with 4 inch now and a super m would be 4 inch original and most would now be 4 1/8".

Right, I am guessing I probably won't come across too many that still have standard bore sizes. If I do I can always make more pucks later.

Don't remember the exact sizes without checking. But for engines that use 2 different sleeve ID with the same OD you can use a thicker puck and make both ID sizes on the same puck.

just save the measurement hastle, if you know u r replacing sleeves just take the new one to machine shop and the machinist will make it correctly the first time. the outside diameter has to be about .010 smaller than sleeve diameter.
that's if your not doing the machining yourself. needs to be at least 1" thick. 100.00 dollars later you have a good puck, that's why let him do it. if you hand him spec's and then it don't work, that your baby then.

I am making these myself at work...would like to just make them all at once that way I have them when I need them. I don"t have any new or old sleeves to go off of that"s why I was hoping someone would have some they could measure. Just picked some nice 3/4" plate out of the scrap bin so will use that and add a second step to some accounting for stock bore size...just hope my OD measurements are correct!

Kid, do you have a link to the post where you found these puck dimensions? I know I posted some in the past, and if the dimensions you found were the ones I posted, then I can assure you that they are correct as I took the measurements directly from the pucks I made for pulling sleeves.

Kirk, yes those are your measurements with the
exception of one. I don't think you listed the SH so
I figured it based off the others...hopefully it
will be right. Thanks!
