I see the British Ms had factory 3points.Are they a
draft controled unit? can the rochshaft/top
cover/3point stuff be put on an American M? Just
curious. It woulds be 'fun' to have a 'factory'
3point on an M.

Hi steve, firstly but I am not cleaver enough to do photos. Long story, Here in the UK we have been geting IH tractors from you since the Titans and Moguls till late 1949 when we ran out of dollars. I have got the last Farmall M to be imported into the UK with the serial number FBK199844. IH produced the first M at Doncaster works on the 13th Sept 1949 and at the time we had several UK built tractors with a 3 point hydraulic lift. So IH designed and built a very good system with two heavy vertical casting bolted to the rear of the rear axle. they carred a large hole at the top for the rockshaft and a mounting for the lift arms at the bottom. The top link mounting was a cast bracket witch was bolted to the end of the top cover with two 3/4 inch bolts. These early UK built tractors used a lot of parts imported from America so the Liftall belly pump and rams were used to operate the rockshaft with the rams horizontal all linked to a long rod to pull the rockshaft back to lift the implement. No draft control at this time, as you may know the B450 did not have draft control either. A very strong lift and I used to work a 2 furrow reversable plow with a BMD diesel tractor. Hope I have been some help and if you require and further infomation please ask. Regards, Michael.

Hi Steve, this setup could be put on the US built H and M tractors. A lot of these lifts were fitted to the US built tractors witch came here in the war on the Lease Lend scheme. Blowing my own trumpet now but here in the UK I am looked apon as an IH expert. I own a 1940 BN a 1942 W6 a 1945 H a 1949 M a 1955 B250 a 1959 B275 a 1962 B414 and i have just bought a 1923 10-20. Regards, Michael.

I own a B450 (1962 model) & have had no luck finding the primary fuel filter. According to all the dealers this filter is no longer manufactured & none are in stock. Does anyone know where I can find fuel filters for this tractor? The part number for the fuel filter is IHC #840-633-R91.
Thanks! KJ (contact info. 512-927-6581)

MJ,
I have a B450 & cannot find the primary fuel filter here in the United States. Does International Harvester in the UK carry the primary filter #IHC 840 633 R91? If so can you provide me with contact information so that I maybe able to purchase a handful of these filters.
Thanks! 450guru
