I need a pump. Are the new aftermarket pumps a quality product? Are the rebuilt pumps a better alternative? Any place to buy tested used pumps? TIA

Pump housings and gears are the wear spots that fail in used pumps. The housing wear surfaces(aluminum) are economically unreasonable to remake to specification. the gears could be built up and refinished, but it it is also expensive. Some used pumps that were pretty good when removed can be rebushed to put the gears back in the center of their chamber, but those are more rare than those worn to the point that the housing has been scored and worn away.
New replacement pumps would carry what ever warrantee the seller places on them. (research it)
The rebuilt pumps might be OK but again how difficult is it going to be getting a warranty claim covered on a device placed in your hydraulic system, with your regulators and your (in their opinion) dirty hydraulic oil.

If you live near a shop that does a lot of work on hydraulic systems, they might be able to fix you up with a good used one...we have such a shop in Shreveport, Louisiana, and I just told them to be on the lookout for a suitable replacement--they were able to test a used one that turned out to be almost as good as new for my 450.
