I have a switch on my 1086 that when it is put into park the parking lever hits it
I have looked in my wiring diagrams and I cant find the switch on them
can anyone tell me what the switch is for

That is an additional safety start switch that was added during the production run of the 86 series tractors. Earlier ones do not have it. It allows the engine to be cranked without pushing down the clutch pedal as long as the transmission is in park.
 
Later 86 series tractors had a second starter safety switch installed to allow starting in Park without pushing the clutch down.
