I just brought home this tractor and now I have no hydraulics. It has the engine mount pump. There is a unit on top where the distributor sits. What is this and what do I fill it with?

pictures always help for unknown stuff.

the transmission fluid is also your hydraulic reservoir. the cap with the 3/4 inch square drive by the shifter is your fill spot. first get the back end up on a hill and see if gravity can help you get that pump primed again. hy-tran is the fluid of choice if you are low. it doesn't get full to the top. there is a check plug somewhere I don't remember at the moment.

The check plug is under the clutch side foot board. Look for a plug with a small bolt in it, remove bolt, fill till it comes out. When I have that problem on mine I crack the line that comes from the pump where it goes from rubber to steel. Loosen it some and watch for bubbles at high idle, when she catches prime tighten it up quick. The unit with cap by the distributor is where you add engine oil. Good luck

someone posted a NAPA # for the trans filters but I cant seem to find the post. anyone know it off hand?
