F12 felt seal or any felt seal question

replacing seals on my F12 wheel axle. Am I supposed to oil or grease the felt seal? In general, should you grease or oil any felt seal?

In general I grease any felt seals I install.

Yup, I agree with oldiron29, as he has it right. However, you need to remember something. Those felt "seals" were less to keep the oil in and more to keep the dirt out. F-series tractors mark their territory, and it is just a plain fact.
