I took the M to town the other day to have some calcium transferred to it from a tractor that was sold. It had some in it but not enough. It is a loader tractor. Wouldn't you know it, the Coop worked that valve stem too much and put a hole in the tube. The rim was rusty around the stem. I left the tractor for them to patch and went back today.
They had drilled a new hole for the stem and cut out the rust. A very nice patch plate was braised in and contoured perfectly. I kept telling myself when I was bored I would fix that and now I don't have to. Not too excited to see the bill, though. That can't be a cheap repair. For the job they did it will be worth it. It will certainly last another 65 years.
