cost of ih wheel weights

How much does the cast wheel weight with the reverse hour glass hole in the middle weight and what would they cost. I have a chance to buy 4 and don't know what they weigh or what they are worth and neither does the guy I can get them from.

Around here (NE Indiana) a pair of one-piece full circle weights will bring $100 or more. Split weights often are a bit more expensive than one-piece weights. --Lee

(quoted from post at 16:59:56 03/14/14) Just watched 4 weights sell today. $95 per set

I just got home from a consignment auction. A wooden pallet with 11 IH rear wheel weights on sold for $35 each. A local scalper bought them. I think the auctioneer and the scalper are in cahoots because he would not sell those weights any other way but by the whole pallet.

Oh, those weights will weigh 145# to 150# each.

In NB you are looking at 100.00 for a set of two. Less if you have to pull them off the tractor.

(quoted from post at 02:36:35 03/17/14) i picked up 3 sets of 100 lbs weights last year for myself. paid between 200 and 225 a set.

100# weights? Are those what would fit a Farmall A or B? If so, those are not nearly as plentiful as the 150# weights, and would be higher priced.

Even the A/B weights weigh around 140lbs apiece, and they're not that rare and should not cost 2X as much...

Okay. I've not been around enough As or Bs to really know what the rear wheel weights would weigh. Those weights are smaller in diameter than those for an M or H, but I think they are also thicker? So 140# would probably be about right.

In any event, I think we all need to stick together on what we pay for wheel weights. $25 to $30 EACH is PLENTY. Those scalpers who think they are worth $50 to $75 each can just keep them.
