140 High Crop wide axle tractor

ANyone know what the production numbers for 140 high crops with extra wide axles? Any idea of value? THanks
 
Joe: What widths are you talking about? What wheel tread? The regular clearence 140 was available, adjustable from 40" to 68" wheel tread. The high clear may have been as well, never looked at one that close.
 
No. I am talking about extended axle housings. THe width I have seen is 84" to the outside of the tires with a longer axle between the transmission and lower unit. The front axle has an extension also.
 
Joe: I believe the items you mention are aftermarket. I assume, quite similar to the extension used on a B or BN for rear axle. Front axle would be quite easy. I don't think IH did this. Probably someone mounting a harvester, I know Chisholm Ryder did a conversion on 140 for a cucumber harvester.
 
Parts book shows only one axle for HC 140 but Louisville works production records list a small number of "Modi. 140s", do not know what that means.
 
Does it say how many "Modi. 140"s" were made? Any idea of value? THe one I looked at looks like it has less than 500 hours on it(good original paint, rear tires like new, etc)
 
The number of modi. tractors is available for most if not all years if you want to dig them out. Do Google search for "wisconsin historical society IH digital collection", choose browse, scroll down to number 10 Louisville works production records.

Joe: From the photo it looks like the same extension as used on a Farmall B. Only one problem with that idea, casting holes for 140 brake band pins are not the same as on a Farmall B. Someone must have made a casting patterned off the Farmall B and with same pin holes for brake band as 140.
 
THe original owner has the tractor. He bought it from the IH dealer just as pictured. ANy idea what they sell for? THanks
