The only tightening to be done is at the nut that holds it in the steering arm. If that nut is tight, and the tie rod still wobbles, the tie rod end is worn out.
 
Yes, the Schwartz wide fronts had adjustable tie rod ends. Take out the cotter key and tighten the serrated nut until snug and back off until free. Problem was, by the time you noticed it was loose the ball had a flat spot so it would bind when turning. Worth a try though, tightened many.
