1086 temp and oil gauge

I am working on the gauges in my 1086
neither the oil pressure or the temp gauge are working
I have narrowed the oil pressure problem down to the electric oil pressure sending switch
I called my local dealer and they told me the switch was obsolete
does anyone know where I can get new one from
I went to my local car parts store and got one close to the one in our 485 it is made for a light not a gauge when i put it in it peged the hand and once i start the tractor the gauge drops to zero
now for the temp gauge I think I have a problem with the actual gauge
agin I asked the dealer about a new gauge and agin it is obsolete
does anyone repair them or where may I find a used one
I know alot of people replace the gauges with newer styles but I want to keep it as original as I can

Get on messicks.com look under instruments for gauge they are available. Sender should be also. Parts have superseded and have new #
 
Find a different dealer; this guy is just blowing you off.

Both items are still avialable. Gauge is updated part # 121605C3 and oil pressure sender is part # 130707C3.

If after you install the new gauge and it still drops you should check the relief valve on the right side of the engine behind the little cover. Mine was stuck open on my 5088
 
I agree with Allen. Lots of dealers these days dont
want to service 'older' tractors.They want to sell
NEW ones.Our local JD dealer is that way...
 
Thanks to all for the information I called messicks and ordered the parts from them
like some of you guys said I think its time to find another dealer
