Was going to rebuild a carb on a Cub and split it in half and the idle tube was missing. Will somebody must of tried to get the broken piece out and drilled out the threads for the tube. Any suggestions?

If all the threads are in fact gone, you still have a couple options. You can hell-coil the existing hole to install new threads (preferable), or you can JB weld the hole and drill and tap for new 4-48 threads to install a new idle tube. The second option may be cheaper, but you stand a good chance of getting the hole off center and not have it line up with the Carb bowl if you are not very, very careful.
