IH-100 spreader parts

The winter was rough on my IH-100 spreader and it is in need of some repair. The spring-loaded cog that engages the bottom of the big gear and drives the chain has gotten bent into a "U" shape and it can barely move the chain. Too many times trying to spread with the chain frozen to the floor, I guess. Can that part be found anywhere?

Probably not but if you look at the parts lookup on the Case IH website and find it, contact your dealer and have them do a search. Some old parts can still be found. Other than that you need to have a call around to scrap yards, check ebay for someone parting one out, etc. Could be a hard one as those spreaders are really popular. I have two of them waiting in the "projects" list.

100 Spreader not on on-line catalog. Too old. 101 is listed which is similar the pawl may be different.

Part # for 101 pawl is 617431R1. If someone that has paper catalog could check number on the 100 is only way we will know for sure or someones prior experience.

The 617431R1 Pawl ia available at $200 + DOLLARS. I work with parts and get used to prices but this is high for small part. But special made and not many sales.

Hopefully someone can verify part that you need for sure.If you want to see what the one looks like for 101 go to recent 284 Tractor part post with Bob Evans and I show how to access catalog.

Jim, Great link to info. I will save that for future reference.

According to Messicks's CNH ONLINE SITE, Part #13002S Pawl is replaced by part #616361R1 and still available for $60.65
