my $325 loader made my day...

[b:c132597c32]As a lot of you guys know I picked up a IH 2001 trip bucket loader the other week for $325 from Craigslist. After waiting for the snow to go away and making rear mounting brackets I finally got the loader on it today! Only thing I have to do is weld some extensions onto the front bar of the subframe.

Everything else bolted right up and to my surprise (and fortune) the hydraulic cylinder don't leak!! I'm going to replace the hoses, do some bucket surgery and add a dump cylinder in the near future.[/b:c132597c32]

There"s some kinda insect trying to get out of that pre-cleaner jar, better hit him with some DDT. Got one in mine, but he"s upside-down plumb dead.

Sweet! I knew you'd like it once you got it home.

One thing: There should be a cross member connecting the two side frames across the front. Almost like a push bar.

Without that I don't think there's anything holding those front frames to the tractor except for gravity. If you get some side tweak on the loader pushing something, you're liable to pop one side frame or the other off...

Nice find! Agreed, hope you have parts or do connect the front frame rails. I have extra bucket spikes/teeth if you need some.
Got the same loader on my Farmall 756.
Have a 7ft snow bucket and 5ft dirt bucket also.

Don't need DDT, they die on their own. Funny how easy it is for them to get in there. Always the same color too.

The missing front iron is held on with 4 bolts.
Two pieces of angle iron top and bottom would work. Makes it easier to remove the loader later.

One note that may be helpful when you convert to a hydraulic bucket. The side of your bucket is punched in 2 places for mounting to the loader frame. If you look closely at Loren's bucket, you can see the bucket is the same but it is mounted in the other position. Yours is mounted to get the desired balance for a trip bucket. His is mounted to get the geometry and range of movement desired for a hydraulic bucket. When you add hydraulic bucket control, it may depend on what original parts you find and how much you have to fabricate, but you will probably want to change the bucket to the other mounting position.

yeah I have to weld extended tabs on the front bar that connects the subframes. its up against the grill of the tractor now, only reason its not on it.

If keep this bucket yeah I'll have to move it out in order to put the cylinder on it. If I can find a little larger bucket for cheap, that will replace the manure bucket.

PM Me and I'll give you my email. Thank you!!

For me to send a PM, you need to enter your email below your "Name" -second line -"email", then I can contact you.
My 2001 loader has a decal stating that it fits a 460, 504, and one or two others. To mount it on the 756, it came with a 4x5 steel tube for each side(non-original) used as an extension mounted to the axle with very long bolts. This moved the entire loader frame 4" forward, thus clearing the radiator. No welding needed and will keep the loader looking original, not hacked it anyway. Can send picts if that helps.

Stemmy; per the Operator's Manual International 2001 Loader:
Bucket Cylinder bore...3 1/2 in. Stroke...16 in.
glad to hear you have the front channel. Again from the manual:
'...The side of the front channel having three holes should face downward.' Thanks for sharing the photos. and posting back.

Thank you for the cylinder info!! I'm gonna try to find a 2001 dump cylinder in the tractor yard but if not I guess ill have to find one with identical dimensions and fab a mount etc etc to make it work.
