when i pulled the tractor into garage the left wheel was not turning right side was.

after tearing apart replacing bearings seals and gaskets in tranny and finals i put back together tonight and still same thing right side turns and left side doesnt, any ideas

Sounds like maybe a differential problem to me. When you say the left side is not turning is it not turning at all or just not getting power?

no engine on it yet, i can turn right side by the hub but the left side wont turn even when i put a couple bolts in and put a pipe between to turn

if the transmission is stuck between 2 gears, would this happen? i do not know. if this is not the problem, probably differential.

tranny not locked up i can turn it with rh hub

everything is new as i am restoring it, so cant be brakes, i am hoping it is something easy so i dont have to tear down again and mess up seals, gaskets and stuff

What kind of shape are the final drive pans? I've seen them deformed from using them as a jacking point or maybe just hitting a rock. If they get pushed against the bull gear, things won't turn.

Did the differential shaft turn freely before you bolted the final drive to the transmission case? (I assume you mounted the final drive (with differential shaft and rear axle assembled) as a sub assembly to the tractor's transmission case.)
If yes, I'd pull the PTO assembly and inspect the differential. (Pulling the PTO assembly will not mess up anything, not even the gasket if it still new.)
Please tell us what you find.

the oil pans are straight so not rubbing on gear

honestly i never tried to spin it when it was off the right side did but never checked the left, going to take it off this morning and see whats up

As was noted below, the brake seems to be the most likely culprit.

It is the first thing I would check.

so i took off the cover at opposite end of the hub removed bolt holding axle in and gave the shaft a smack with mini sledge and voila it turns, maybe a little tight in new bearings or something all good now, thanks for the responses

Did you take the final drive apart and removed the bull gear from the axle? If so, you may have reversed the bull gear while assembling. The bull gear is not symmetric.
(I could look up in my service manual to which side the long end of the hub goes, but that will take a while.)
