Anybody build a tank to put in place of the pump to use as a resivor for a live pump system. Looking to shed some weight and gain capacity

Several have done so. Aluminum is a good choice. There is more room (thus higher capacity if care is taken in measurements. A cardboard and duct tape mockup works to detail the shape with clearance for shafts and the clutch/flywheel. I don.t know of a pattern, but it would be popular if one existed. Jim

At a show last year I spotted a Super M with the live pump plumbed to the transmission. It drew oil from the tranny drain opening beneath the PTO, through a large filter, then to the pump inlet. The Christmas tree valve exhaust was piped back to the fill opening on the tranny deck.

Obviously the transmission was filled with Hytran or equivalent instead of gear oil - not something I'd dare try. However it DID give the tractor 13+ gallons of hydraulic storage capacity.

Yes M&W did it a long time ago. Pictured one was 3.5 gallon capacity.

I have the belly pump replacment you take out the belly pump and install this tank bolts right in just like the pump,in ct

I am working on relocating the battery to under the seat, via a 450 set-up. I then plan to mount a 5 gallon portable air tank where the battery used to live. Don't have all the details worked out yet. Too darn cold to be out in the shop.

I think you are safe doing that with a Super M , from what I have read IH changed the hardening process on the gears and the SMs can be run on Hytran in the rear end .
