old IH wheel disk

Out back I have an old IH wheel disk. My copy of "150 years of International Harvester" shows one on page 349 in the bottom lefthand corner being pulled by a Super M. What model is this disk? I am guessing it is one of the first IH wheel disks and is before the 37 and 370? I would attach a pic of my disk but it is under a few feet of snow at the moment!!

I have a 12 foot 370 that needs new blades and I am thinking of robbing several of the good blades off this old disk to improve my 12'. It will be a fare bit of work but blades have gotten expensive. Is the old disk rare enough that I should try to sell it and go buy blades??

Thanks for any words of advice

not sure of the model , you probably should rob it for parts ,cant find my book at this time to see exactly what you got but i assuming there hyd. lift, which started in the mid 50's sometime , i bought my 11 ft deerborn set in good usable condition for $200 & deerborn is more rare ( at least around here) , disk just dont seem to be collectable , for that matter most equipment from 50.s & 60 isnt yet , and if you need alot of disks there getting awlfull exspencive anymore , save the money & as much as i hate to say it scrap the rest , be the most cost effective

35-A, don't know what its worth in your area. If good condition and depending on the width, maybe as much or more as disc blades.

Thanks for the replys. I kind of suspected disks are not highly sought after by collectors. It seems plows are more popular. A good disk seems to be popular with the deer plot boys who want to go out and scratch around just enough to plant their food plots. My guess is the blades on this old disk are going to be worth more than the disk itself but I was just sitting in the house pondering my spring projects and thought I would run it past you all.

I kind of have to wonder how long it will be before nobody cares about old iron.

A lot depends on location but don't scrap it yet. First if you are near SW PA I would buy it off you, second people looking for food plot discs will pay for an older one. They are just looking to scratch surface in most cases.
