Does anyone make a good after-market foot switch for the stage 1 Super H? The original pull lever is hard to reach from the seat and yet to be able to pull it to start the tractor.
My stage II Super H has a great foot operated switch. I do not know if it is factory or after-market.

My stage 1 Super H has the foot operated already from new it might have been a late 53 model not sure, but check at the bone yards in your area might get lucky.

Our stage 1 has the foot switch, can find them in salvage yards, just have to switch the switch on the starter...very handy that way.

Where's the pull rod for your starter? I'm about as fat and inflexible and bad-backed as they come, and I can easily reach mine which is mounted about 6" above the deck.

My only problem is I need 3 hands. That's where a foot starter would be nice.

SH-KS,
On this site, on the left column, 2nd from top, is "Tractor Parts". Go there, follow to SH electronics, I see a starter for $10.08. Maybe not what you want, but it's a start. Or give them a call. I have purchased from them and they are easy to do business with and gave me quick delivery.

LA, the starter button on a Super H is mounted on the starter itself, and is actuated with a pull rod on 1953 models, or a foot lever on 1954 models.

He is looking for the foot mechanism, not the button that mounts on the starter.

If you really want to make it easy, replace the starter with one from an H. The H starter has a post for the battery cable instead of that little button. Now you can install a solenoid on top of the starter, connect the battery cable to the solenoid, and then install a simple, momentary contact push button switch in a location that is convenient for you. You may need to fabricate a mounting bracket for the push button switch.

Stage one serial 13340 and higher was equipped with the foot lever. Find or copy one of those.
You need the lever, foot rod with lever and the starter link rod.

I too have a 53 Super H with the pull rod for the starter, always felt it was a step backwards, as I had a 41 H that had the push button starter switch mounted on the steering post. The foot lever starter would be nice, however, sometimes they can be accidently stepped on !
