Block Heater for 756

Could someone give me some direction as to how best plumb a block coolant heater on a 756? I am thinking of one of those (often Red) canisters with the heater element in them and then plumbed low and high on the block. A picture or parts diagram sure would be helpful if you have it.
The Neighbors 666 died and he needs to get his 756 going in this cold weather. Paul

I added a Katz radiator hose heater to a 856 years ago. It still works after 25 years.

Just bought the right diameter heater for the lower radiator hose. Then cut the hose in two.

Installed the heater with two hose clamps in the lower hose and was done.

With the heater in the lower hose the hot water rises into the engine block and heats the motor.

I believe it was a 1000 watt heater.

I agree with IaGary,I have a 756 with that setup here right now and give that thing an hour and it gets hot enough you can't hardly touch the water manifold on the top of the block.

The most effective block heaters IMHO are the ones that fit in place of a "freeze plug." They get the heat where it's needed.

This is a German diesel right?
