886 opinions

I have been looking for a 90 to 100 horsepower tractor for the last couple of months. Today I looked at a pretty fair looking 886 that the owner said that the clutch slips if you get it in a hard pull. I appreciated that because you couldn't tell driving it. The worst thing I found was that the seat seemed to be too close to the pedals and I couldn't get it to slide back further. I don't want to buy a tractor that will be uncomfortable to operate as I plan to spend several hours in the seat. I guess I should mention I am 6 2" and need to be able to stretch my legs because of knee and hip replacement. Also what other opinions do any of you have on this model? I also found an 826 but couldn't look at it today. I would appreciate input on opinions of the models such as 806,856, 966 and etc thanks in advance the guys on here are the greatest!

If the seat goes back far enough to hit the back of the cab, that's the extent of the leg room. Leg room isn't one of the 86 series strong points. My 1086 will make my knee act up if I put some long hours in the cab. If I'm using the clutch a lot, as in loader work the left knee feels better. Jim

Lee, I prefer the 66 series with or without cab, the 886 slippin could be the clutch also could be torque pressure low from plugged filter or bad MCV pump had that just fixed on our 986.
