connecting rod bolts

Just wondering what others do when they install the connecting rod bolts. Do you put a little locktite on them.or just torque them to spec?

Do what the book says.I,ve never had any problems without Loctite(as per book)When specified, use it.

the only thing I have ever put on the bolts is oil and torque to spec.
definitely would not use the red Loctite , as then your done. might use the blue removable stuff but don"t even think its necessary. this would be on the engines with the cotter pin through the rod and castle nut. the brgs.to rods are machined with a "crush" and when installed together and torqued form the proper clearance.
very good idea to use rubber hose over the bolts to protect the crank on installation.

I just make sure the threads on the bolts are clean and apply engine oil to the threads and torque to spec. use keepers if there was any and in good shape.

You can go to CIH and get new keepers. They aren't the cheapest things but I figure they are good insurance. Nobody needs an excuse for a window.
