info on farmall tractor

I'm planning on restoring my (i think) farmall h ?.
Wide rear 87" single tire front.Trying to pick this up from shed and cant seem to get it to roll seems both gear boxes are in newtrual. It has a key way on the right tire axle that removes easily but still cant get it to move. The tractor has been sitting for years water drained from raditer, gas as well.My intention is to roll/winch it onto a trailer WHaT aM i DOING WRONG

If you are in a cold climate then likely there is water in the transmission/rearend case which has frozen. If there is snow on the ground you can jack it up and put scrap pieces of sheet metal under the rear wheels and winch it on. I have done this to unload a frozen H off a trailer and I think it would work to load an H too.

brakes could be locked even if pedal is in off position. hit the lever with a hammer to losen heat(tiger tourch) to rear end will losen any ice that is in rear end.

Push in the clutch and see if that makes it free if that does free it you are locked in two gears remove the shift lever and move the rails to the neutral position.

one of two things, it could be the bull gears frozen from water. use a tiger torch and heat up housing.
it also could be brakes seized up , but unlikely as it will be band type brake bands. the disc's on the super model's do seize and require the drum to come off. sometimes a rap with a ball peen hammer does the trick after loosening the bolts also.

The first thing you are doing wrong is trying to move it in the dead of winter. A little ice in the wrong place and nothing moves.
Or it does move and something breaks.
The 2nd thing is.... Sometimes you find out WHY a tractor was PARKED :(

I think (sometimes). This tractor is possibly stuck in more than one way. I think the attempt is being made to move it, not turn the engine. Pushing the clutch (and blocking it) would free the engine if the disk was free to spin, but not the finals if they were in ice, nor if the trans were in 2 gears. Not a clash of ideas, just a comment. Jim

Thanks Thats about what i'm doing i've jacked up the rear end placed rollers under locked tire and am inching it onto tilt trailer but in doing so, the shed, its in, won't allow it to pass under roof joist so steering wheel at u joint had to come off.
Today i intend to with back wheels on trailer (chained) pull the tractor to level ground(shed ,tractor on 20 degree slope, pulling uphill)were i have to drop the tractor and load front end first(single tire) trailer bed 83" tractor rear 87" so to load rear wheels of tractor to wheel wells on trailer.Oh I love this restoration project.

also the previous owner took the time to drain the radiator and fuel tank i figured that he kept it maintained ie grease on electrical connections/housed,covered,new or newer electrical components, tires little wear etc so ive been wrong before but its just a gut feeling that its in working order.here again i'm green at this and once brought home find exactly what model it is and get a manual.I do appreciate all comments from all Thanks
