Information for MTA and H

Casting skeleton is what I call them but its where the tire and rim clamp on to, don't know if this is the correct terminology. My MTA has a chunk out by the wedge. I know of a donor H, I would assume the axle on the MTA may be a hair bigger, but I'm wondering if it would still clamp up changing from the H to the MTA or vice versa? Thanks in advance.

The Wheel is the name and being broken at the clamp may be its downfall. but where is the peace missing.
Unfortunately H wheels are not close to fitting. Finding the correct wheel should not be that tough. Local purchase is to be looked for to reduce shipping. Jim

Generally that part is called the hub or the cast center. H has a 2.5" axle, M is 2.75 so I am guessing the MTA is too, or if it is different it would be bigger. It will not fit.

I presume you are talking about where the wheel center clamps on to the axel. the other posts are right. H rear wheel parts will not interchange. the only thing that might be the same is those little do hickey's they used to bolt the rim to the caste iron center and I'm not sure about those. but I know that all else is different.

not a chance, two different tractors... two different hubs.
how can you put more H.P.to a small axle and expect it to hold out. ihc found this out on their 560"s by using w-6 and M power train.

I also meant to say that that can be welded if you have the piece. no problem at all for a WELDER.

Wouldn't that be a weldOr?

But regardless, they made over 300,000 M's and Super Ms' and MTA's, all with the same cast center.

They're one of the hardest parts to get rid of on a parts tractor.

You should be able to find one at any tractor salvage yard for 10 cents a pound.
