Hey guys... Brain fart time.
I took the batteries off this thing a couple years ago.
Now I have two new batteries and cant remember how they hooked up.

Option 1:
Frame to neg on bat 1, poss bat 1 to neg on Bat 2, Pos on bat 2 to starter ect.

Option 2:
Frame to neg on bat 1 to neg on bat 2.
Pos on bat 1 to pos on bat 2, to starter.

I am thinking it is option one but cant remember.

Oh they are two 6 volt batteries.

Hey Allan Thanks, I got to looking at the Cables and there was no way for them to go parallel any way.

I have been around. Changed jobs and things like that.
Had not been working on the tractors for a while.

That will have to change here pretty soon. I have a 400 in need of a rebuild.

One more question though.
If I am going to put a battery charger on this.Does it matter what battery I hook it too. And I assume 12 volt setting?

YES.

You can't hook it to one battery.

Remember, battery 6V. Charger 12V. Won't mix.

You need to connect the charger NEG to the tractor frame, and the charger POS to the battery post that goes to the starter.

Ok good to know. I sold the 966 so I could get some cabbage to fix up my 400.
Keeping that one for life.
Going to miss having a diesel though. Sitting two years and starts right up.
Try that with a gasser.

Kelly, I too second Allan's ? We have missed You and hearing about what all you have going on. Don't Be a stranger! at least check in every so often,... Stroke someones fur the wrong direction so we all can watch them Fuzz-up like a mad cat!!
Do you still have your web site?? Always enjoyed seeing your projects and stuff. Hate to see you sell your 966, but we understand sacrifices may have to be made! From time time in our lives!
