f - 20 crank removal

I have driven several out with a heavy hammer and a block of steel against the front of the crankshaft.

The tool I made for installing the flywheel that screws on rear end of the crankshaft can also be used for pulling the crankshaft. I just made a bar and a pair of legs to span the end and use a 5/8" threaded rod and large nut for pulling. There have been a couple that pulled hard and I had to crank down on the nut pretty hard and then hammer on the front end of the crank (use a block of steel against the crankshaft for protection) to get it to move, then crank down on the nut again.

Crank has to go out the rear of block. Because rear bearing willnot fit out the front. No easy way alot has to come apart to get it out.

easiest way???

well, there isn't one...lol

lots of muscle and cussing is what gets me through that procedure. I do also have a crank puller as well. still kind of a tough job if you have one that wants to be stubborn

Pretty much what everyone else has posted. Pulling the crank out can be either just a hard job, or a really hard job. I haven't met an easy one yet. I found the flywheel to be a bigger pain.......but they did come out.

Update.... The crank is out!!!!! Used my KIRK tool, best thing for the job. It started to move after 1 loud pop. Thanks for the help.
