Farmall 460 gas power follow up

Well I adjusted as per what was posted main fuel screw was at 3 1/2 turns so it's out to 5 now seems better but I did find a bigger power loss guy told me tires where not loaded and I believed him to be correct being the bakes on tractor work very well
Well any who I could not get valve stems to take air or check pressure so I jacked tractor up to change valve stems and guess what tires right full of calcium chloride
So I guess tractor is not to bad on power after all
I am very surprised how good the brakes work with loaded tires I have half a mind to pull apart to see why and try to get my other tractors to work as well but then again I don't wanna mess it up lol
Thanks guy dan

C-Chloride doesn"t change the amount of power, it just increases the mass some. I have to remind myself that a 460 is an H category tractor, and a 560 is an M category tractor. And like their ancestors, similar in power difference. If the compression, fuel, and timing (including centrifugal advance) are on target, it will work as hard as it can. Jim

Why do you prefer a back blade instead of a snow blower? I have an 8" blower on my 560D farm all and much prefer the blower as I can put the snow up in the air and let the wind blow it away instead of having all those piles in the yard. Armand

not putting down the 460 gas but the farm beside me has H's, M's & a nice 460 gas , one day i ask him how he liked the 460 , well the answer was less then exspected, he told me the M has more torque & he rather bale hay with it then the 460 , yes its 6 cyls but lacks torque when you need it , but he also said cutting hay he'd rather run the 460 mainly for live hyd. & PTO , so my take was the 460 was a nice tractor but the 450 would be a better choice ( M with live power) , not sure which would be better on fuel though , had guys complain to me about there M - 400 , 450 being fuel hogs , i dont run my M that much so dont know there
