Looking at an M that a neighbor has for sale. Any chance there is a figure that I could start at. Curious of the production numbers on single wheel front end M tractors in the 40s where might I start. I understand that tire condition is paramount, disregard the pic lousy download. Motor free. Thanks in advance. Chuck

It is red , no one put pokadots on it. A 40s M with good tires not running but with compression is a 900 to 1200 tractor. Jim

Ordinary, average run of the mill running M-$1000.00 plus/minus.The single front wheel was an 'option'.You will find no 'production numbers'.Singles were popular in furrow irrigated rowcrop areas. Some tractors had fronts changed several times yearly, depending on the job, crop, etc. it was working

I apologize for the pics ,no I am not joking, I came to you guys and gals for insite, and I thank you for your imput.I hope to get better pics today and post.He also has a J.D and an Oliver. My thanks again . CHuck

Chuck,

I sold a 40 M last year for 1000. Tires were good on the front, but wore out on the rear, but did hold air and worked for me. The engine had been rebuilt prior to me owning it, and the owner said he had about 100 hours on the rebuild.. The trans was probably the quietest transmission in an M I have ever heard. It had other problems like a weak hyd pump, steering near plum wore out, but it was still a pretty good tractor. I got my money back and then some for what I paid for it.
