Today I made my bracket to switch my 560 over to a single wire alternator tomorrow I will try to hook it up can I get a little help on where to hook the wire from alternator and what to do with wires off my voltage regulator?
Thanks for your help dan

You need to connect the BAT wire (and "L" wire if it has one)from your original voltage regulator to the alternator BAT stud. That way the alternators output goes through the original ammeter to give you a working charge indicator. Connecting the alternator output directly to the battery will give you no way of knowing if your alternator is working unless you add a voltmeter to the tractor.
Dont install larger than a 37 amp alternator. A larger "1 wire" alternator like the 61 or 72 amp model may overload your wiring harness and require almost twice as much rpm to excite as a 37 amp "1 wire" alternator.

The other regulator wires can just be taped up, as they are not needed.

So Could I just connect my field wire to alternator and other end to L and batt and not need to run any new wires?
Thanks dan

There are two wires running from the generator to the regulator, F (field) and A (armature).

The F wire is the heavier of the two. Connect it to the single post of the alternator.

On the regulator end, move that same wire from the GEN terminal of the regulator to the BAT terminal.

Tape off the end of the A wire at the alternator, or connect it the same way as the F wire, by moving to the BAT terminal on the regulator.

That's it! You're done!

Field and armature wire connnections between generator and regulator are not used with alternator. They can be removed.

Simple way is connect BAT and L lead (if you have one) from regulator to the big output post of the alternator. The BAT lead supplies charge current and the L lead supplies power to light switch and on some tractors to the ignition switch.

Yes, you could use the gen A and F wires(connect both together) and connect them both to the alt BAT stud. At the regulator end, connect the ARM or GEN lead, and the F lead, to the BAT lead at the regulator. Using both generator wires gives you a little more capacity to better stand the alternators higher output.
