Almost deep enough

Snow is getting deep enough here in Kansas that I may have to fire up the ol' 240U and move some of it. Drove out earlier with an AWD SUV, but it was only 5 or 6" then. It has still been snowing some since then, but not a lot more.

Lucky stiff. I got the 560 stuck yesterday trying to plow out the front of the old barn. Took two days to get the driveway open after the last storm.

I've been out once today to clear drifts. We are supposed to get high winds tonight. We will be drifted in for 48 hours if it does like they are predicting.

I broke the blade when I was out earlier so I have to get the welding helmet on. I'd rather do it now - it will be negative temps for the next few days.

I got to use my Super A tonight for about 2 hours pushing snow. About 8-9 " on the ground here in Mid Mo. Know its crazy, but really fun to use the girl for work, not just puttering around.

The snow is pretty deep here north of Hesston, maybe close to ten inches. I had the loader-equipped 350 RC out pushing snow this evening. If we get even half the wind they are predicting tonight it could be a real mess in the morning. Tomorrow the temperature isn't supposed to get out of the single digits so it will be a bit chilly.

Not sure exactly how much we got SW of you a little way, but at least 10", maybe 12". I know I won't be driving out without clearing it out with the tractor. I can clean out one drive, about 75 yards... the rest of the circle will probably have to wait for it to melt. Even with the tractor and PS, my wife won't let me be out that long in the cold. Ol' gal keeps an eye on me since my by-passes a few years back.

Not worried about getting out very early today... 2 degrees when I first looked at the computer at 6 AM... only 3 degrees now at 9. Don't know if the 240U will even start and not in a hurry to find out. Got a Hyundai Santa Fe and Ford Edge, both AWD, but not even going to try them... about 5-6" too deep for them. A 4WD pickup could probably get out, but my old F-150 is 2WD.

Nope, didn't start. Put the charger on it to warm the battery.... maybe tomorrow. Thought I'd try the Hyundai, but the last 15 to 20 yards of the drive were too deep. Wife wouldn't let me shovel that last bit. Don't really need anything, so if I make it tomorrow, that's good. Times like this, a short drive and a snow-blower would be nice, but I like being back off the road a ways.
Got relatives in EC Iowa... brother near Solon and a couple nephews.

We got 8" here in central Missouri. I now remember that great idea I had last Summer to remove the snowblower from the tractor and install the belly mower. Looking out at all that snow I remembered I didn't remove the belly mower when I finished mowing and re-install the snowblower. I finally got our road cleared, but it takes forever with a FLE or front-end blade compared to that snow blower. But, I'll be ready for the grass when it comes this Spring.

Charger on all night and still would not even turn over... not sure what is wrong. Just a faint click and nothing. Tractor has not been started for 2 or 3 weeks, but started okay in warmer weather. It was about 5 degrees when I tried this morning. Battery and cables are only 2 years old.
Actually busted out pretty easily with the Santa Fe after the tractor failed, so I'll wait for warmer weather to work on it.
