I have a Farm all M Propane that i pull with.
I am wanting to get more power out of it. It already has electronic ignition on it. I pulled it this weekend in the 6500 class and pulled 161.81. I just ran out of power the rear tires were still biting good just ran out of power. I have some time to work on it till the next pull. I have a friend that has a Farm all H that is having the same problem but his is gasoline. We both have a small budget to work with. Thanks for all your help.

You do realize that Farmall as it relates to the IH row crop tractor models is all one word don't you?

Compression compression compression.
If yours has had a propane head and pistons put in it ignore this post.
Most conversions and (IIRC) some original propane Farmalls had gasoline heads. Propane has equivalent octane to 110 octane gasoline.
Compression ratios of 10:1 or even higher make them sing. Compression pressure can be as much as 175psi or more! Jim

Shoe string budget , and ya want to pull. Horse power costs money , don't care how ya cut it it costs money . So even if you can squeak out two grand it still may not be enough . But the best way is to (1) find a 450 block , (2) get a 450 cam and have it rebuilt and blue printed (3) add a 450 gas head , yes i said a gas head ,(4) get a set of 8500 ft. alt. pistons , Get a set of 450 rods and not just add the step up bushing to your M rods . Use a dist out of a 450 gas or if you can find and old fart like me that can recurve your M dist that would be fine rebuild your gov. and have all the rotating parts balanced . Will it be the top dog probably not but it will run a lot better and get you down the track a lot further . What your after is and engine that will come down a little and set in and pull her guts out . Myself i do not know enough about LP and i can get more pony power out of gas . We had one guy around here that tried for a couple years running propane , when he hooked to the sled people use to back away as ya never knew what was going to come unglued . The day he blew the intake was something to remember along with the fire .

If you could put a set of low first gearing in it, you would up your torque. Otherwise get your checkbook out, becuase HP costs money.

buy your own trophy your or ribbion, its cheaper in the short and long term, inexpensive means change your oil, tune up,battery, good luck

I actually pull a propane 400, rebuilt to 281 and has factory propane head that is a must, just got one for a buddy, a new head, had around $1,200 plus got the new propane manifold.
